Arizona Girls Trip
ARIZONA GIRLS TRIP
Arizona
April 2021
San Tan Flat
First Night's Fun
April 2021. I was in Tucson, Arizona at Sharon’s about a week and a half before picking up Doreen on Friday to head to her house in Florence. It’s so convenient that my mother-in-law and Doreen’s house are so close to one another- about 45 minutes away. The “official” Girl’s Trip started on Sunday when we picked up Jen and Laura. After the pickup, we headed to San Tan Flat for dinner and drinks. San Tan Flat is a great place to experience outdoor dining on picnic benches while listening to music or inside for a cooler, dining experience.
Big Bird
Doreen and Mike’s golf cart. Super fun to drive in around the Anthem Community. We took it on multiple occasions to the Community Center, grocery store, and a couple restaurants- super fun!
Windmill Winery
Located in the Florence area, the Windmill Winery features wines that are locally produced and grapes that thrive in the Arizona climate. The location and setting are perfect for getting away and just enjoying some wine with friends.
Pool Action
With weather in the 90’s, it was wonderful to lay around in Doreen’s pool. While we were taking this picture, Laure is trying to dunk me…😲
Organ Stop Pizza
Mesa, Arizona. Opened initially in Mesa in 1975 (first Organ Stop Pizza was in Phoenix) now has the largest Wurlitzer pipe organ in the world.
My mother-in-law, Sharon, told me about Organ Stop Pizza, she said everyone raves about it. It sounded unique, so we gave it a try. The pizza was good and the music and atmosphere had a fun vibe- glad we went.
When leaving a restaurant in Big Bird one night, we turned a corner and the headlights caught hundreds of rabbits chowing down on the golf course. It was an amazing sight to see so rabbits in one place.
Time to go home
Had an amazing time with great friends! Thanks Doreen for being so generous to offer your house for our getaway. BTW- Doreen was on the plane but seating a few rows up…next to a baby😬
