David has always wanted to buy an RV and because of COVID in 2020 and not being able to travel outside the country, our timeline was moved up by a few years. Once we made the decision to purchase an RV we went shopping. Because of being dragged to a few RV shows in the past, I knew that we wanted a B or C class RV. B-class motorhomes are small, streamlined, and ready to roll, they are also built using automotive vans or panel trucks (this really appealed to me because if you’ve ridden with David, you know I should drive everywhere -and I wanted a maneuverable vehicle). A C-class RV is often built on a truck or van chassis that is designed for a motorhome. They have an attached cab and most have an overhang that extends over the cab. BTW, an A-Class is those super huge motorhomes that are longer than 30′, and while super cool, it just wasn’t practical for us. We wanted; to not have to tow a car, be able to move daily, get into national parks, and big enough for George our greyhound dog. So… C-class it was.
On our third trip, the first BIG trip, to Glacier National Park I thought- we have this RV thing down…Ha. While what happened wasn’t anything big, it had me thinking- it sure could have been big. I was driving like I normally do and I wanted coffee and instead of stopping and making it from my Keurig, I was going to stop at Starbucks but as I pulled off the interstate, David said we might as well fill up with Diesal while we’re at it, so I stopped at Holiday. This was the first time filling up that I started the process. David meanwhile went inside and went to the bathroom and then took George for a walk. I still wanted my coffee so when David came out of the gas station, I said I was going in and thought he’d finish with the gas. An RV has a third door and we often use it. David used it and was already in the driver’s seat when I came out of the gas station -so I just got in the passenger seat. When we started pulling out, luckily we were going slow (because it’s an RV) we heard a dragging noise- we were dragging the hose because it was still attached to the RV…🙄. Needless to say, if you start the gassing process, you finish it.
